Getting Your Credit Back At the End of an IVA

Naturally, when you have worked very hard to meet your debt obligations you want your creditability restored. Once your IVA has successfully terminated then it will take a bit of hard work as well to restore your good credit rating but it can be successfully done.

Your credit rating most likely has been severely damaged before you opted into an IVA, and the IVA really does not alter that. Restoring it though is much easier after an IVA then it would be a bankruptcy. One of the best things you can do to get yourself on this road is to never miss one of your IVA payments. You have made a commitment and its
important to see that your stick with it. This is what your future creditors take a close look at.

Once you have completed your IVA and have kept yourself in good standing you will still be able to qualify for a mortgage. You will most likely not get the same benefits as those with good credit ratings. In addition, you may be eligible for credit in other areas but you may need a sub prime lender.

Get to know your credit standing and keep yourself informed. Get your credit reports periodically and if your notice any errors on them get them corrected immediately. Now that you have gotten yourself out of debt be diligent about future debts. Try to ensure that you have something to fall back on in case you are not able to bring in any income for a period. Always try to pay cash for the things you need. If this is not possible then do not incur any more debt until you clear this one off. Now is the perfect time to learn and implement financial management.
